SXSW has been intense, in the most enjoyable way, but still intense.
Day’s filled with talks, rushing from one conference room to another, bearly having enough time to grab a taco for fear of missing out on the next speaker. Nights filled with discussion about what we’d all seen, all the while taking in brand activations, movies and more than one adult beverage. Mornings spent trying to keep some semblance of an exercise routine and synthesising concepts and ideas through writing.
Knowing when to unplug, connect with people and take care of yourself were strong themes at SXSW. Brene Brown, Douglas Rushkoff, Brian Solis, Ellen Shell and many more all touched on it. We spend so much time being hyper-connected and charging hard that it’s easy to forget that sometimes we have to stop and take a breath.
So in that spirit, I’m going to keep the writing light for the next couple of days, enjoy some live music, hang out with people, take in a boat cruise and give my mind a break so it can recover, process and digest.
